THE 13th ANNUAL IPMBA CONFERENCE
and PRODUCT EXHIBITION in REVIEW

A Note from Our Host: the Charleston Police Department

Dear IPMBA:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members, instructors, and board of IPMBA for coming to Charleston for the 13th Annual IPMBA Conference. I honestly believe that hosting your conference is one of those things in a cop's career that really stands out. Like your best felony arrest, it is something you remember, not just for the rest of your law enforcement career, but for the rest of your life. You enabled my staff, and me, to meet other public safety people whom we never would have had the opportunity to meet. The fact that everyone was totally professional and so friendly just made things that much nicer. Don't get me wrong, there was a tremendous amount of work and time involved in pulling off this event. However, I believe I can speak for everyone on my staff in saying that it was all worth it.

When I was first approached about hosting the IPMBA conference, I had my reservations. The further I got into it, the more my reservations grew. But it's just like I tell the 13- and 14-year-olds on the basketball team I coach, "hard work pays off." Boy, did it ever pay off in this case. I feel like I have made friendships that will last forever.

If there is ever anything that I personally or the Charleston Police Department can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Once again, thanks to Maureen and the IPMBA Board for choosing Charleston, WV. You gave us an experience we won't soon forget.

Be careful out there.

Sincerely,
Lt. John Shannon

Proud Host of the 13th Annual IPMBA Conference
